I hired Affordable Pool Care to care for my pool after many months of extreme dissatisfaction with a larger, local pool care company. I had been unhappy with my pool service for quite a while, as they seemed to be overly busy and spent very little time at my pool, basically doing the very bare minimum to keep the pool from turning green. When I saw the flyer from Affordable Pool Care, I wrote them an email, with many questions about the services they would provide and they immediately responded to all my questions, so I decided to give them a try. I didn't quite know what to expect from them, as they were a new company, just starting up in Yuma, but I was at the point that I didn't think that anyone could do much worse than the company I was using at the time. After I decided to hire Affordable Pool Care, any trepidation I was feeling about how they would do was quickly dismissed. Nathan and Angela were always willing to talk to me and answer any questions or concerns I had about my pool. They assured me that it would always be one of them who serviced my pool, so I wouldn't have to worry about strange people in my yard. I had been so used to sub-par pool service with anonymous pool techs that would rush in and out of my yard, that I was so greatly impressed when they actually tested the chemicals of my pool (I had never seen my previous pool company test chemicals), scrubbed my tiles (they got rid of a white residue that had been there for months), tightened my pool pump (which stopped a large leak the that the previous company had ignored for a year), and had my pool looking so much better within their first visit. Their rates were very competitive and I actually felt like I was getting a much better deal with them, as they were very upfront about their costs and I never had to worry about what my bill would look like at the end of the month. My previous company would randomly add chemicals and do repairs without alerting me, so my bill total was always an unpleasant surprise at the end of the month. It was refreshing to have Affordable Pool Care actually check with me and alert me to any added costs before any work was done. I actually ended up paying slightly less with them and getting much better service, so it was a great deal for me. This couple set the bar high for customer service. It is very rare to deal with people, in any business, who have place so much value on their customers. There were many things they did that I have never seen any other pool company do for their customers. If they missed a "scheduled cleaning" day (always with forewarning), they deducted it from their monthly bill. Angela was also very good about leaving me notes about what was going on with my pool. I even remember on one occasion she left me some extra chlorine because it was going to be hot during the few days between her cleanings and she was concerned that our chemicals be balanced if we were to get in the pool over the weekend. Even my neighbors noticed and made positive comments about how they actually spent time working on the pool and didn't just swish the water around and throw in chlorine, as many of the other local companies tend to do. I was unhappy when I learned that the Affordable Pool Care had to discontinue their business. In their absence (which has only been a couple of months) I am on my second pool man, as the first one just decided to stop showing up. Just in the last month, my pool filter decided to break, and in desperation, I emailed the Van Horn's for some advice on how to proceed because I had come to completely trust their advice with my pool. Even though they were no longer maintaining my pool, and despite the fact that they were now located three hours away, they offered to replace my filter for a very low cost because they didn't want me to be "taken" by the local pool repairmen. These people have such pride in their work and dedication to their previous customers that they were willing to pretty much sacrifice their day to make sure that my filter was properly installed. I have never heard anyone in Yuma rave about their pool service. In fact, most people that I know complain about their service, but they think that they have no other options. I know that Affordable Pool Care is the first pool service that I can rave about and I'm confident that when word spreads about their fantastic work ethics and customer service that others in Yuma will find that Affordable Pool Care & Repair is worth the rave. |
